Shucks…Did We Eat The Cucumbers?

Ever have those mornings, when you wake up with these grand plans about what all you are going to get accomplished when you get home? Me too, and this morning when I jumped outta bed feelin’ fresh, my plan was to come home and film a quick video for #ThirstyThursday highlighting my cucumber and jalapeño Margarita. Sounds great right? Well….for the record…IT IS!! Go on about my day, go to work, KILL IT, go to lunch, KILL IT, back to work, decent afternoon, and back home to shoot this video for all our rabid fans yearning for fresh content. Get home, and like most people in this group, start dinner play with my youngin’, and fix a quick snack…..OF FRESHLY SLICED CUCUMBERS!

An hour or so later, dinner is done, kitchen cleaned, daughter in the tub, I decide its time to get started on the video. Grab the tequila, limes, jalapeño, triple sec, start the stove for a simple syrup, and the…where’s the cucumbers…SHUCKS!

So, sorry guys, you were supposed to get a video for your #ThirstyThursday, but instead you will have to settle for this blog.

With that said, stay tuned for #TripleCrown Saturday. I will be filming something using Crown Royal for #SaturatedSaturday. Did I just come up with the hashtah of the summer? Maybe, maybe not, you decide!

Jalapeno and Cucumber Margarita

This recipe is designed to make 8-10 average sized margaritas out of a pitcher

5-7 Cups of Fresh Lime Juice
2-3 Cups of Tequila (I prefer clear)
Muddle 5-8 slices of cucumber
Muddle 2-4 slivers of fresh jalapeno (Depending on how hot you want it, start slow, you can always add more.
2-3 Tablespoons of Simple Syrup (This can be bought, or made. To make its a 1:1 ratio of white sugar and water, simply get the water hot and stir in the sugar, shut off the heat and let it come back to room temp)
1.5-2 cups of Orange Liquor (I use Triple Sec)
Thin out with roughly 1 cup of water

Now, I am not perfect measurer by any means, so make this how you like it.

Stir all of this into a pitcher, and serve over ice.
